Q: When did you become a teacher?
A: I started teaching in 2000

A: 4th grade
Q: What do you do after teaching?
A: Grade papers, make dinner and walk my dogs.
Q: How do you punish the students who don't listen and reward the ones who do?
A: Time-outs for those who aren't listening and lots of praise for the kids that do well.  That and fruit rollups!

A: I've taught 5th grade and science, but I fall in love with every grade I teach.  I've worked with 1-5 grade in science.

Facts about Mrs. Van Nostrand--I grew up on a farm in Oregon and was the first in my family to go to college.  I have 5 brothers, both older and younger.  I love camping and used to go often which fits with one of my hobbies, rock hunting.  I love visiting my family in Oregon and every time I visit I make delicious jam for all the teachers, but raspberry is my favorite.  I also have 4 kids and two dogs, a Siberian Husky/German Shephard mix and a Beagle who are named Liberty and Bell.
