Basic Math Skills

Teachers will tell you that it's important for students to learn to count- not only by ones, but also by fives, and tens. To get your child to be able to visualize this- cut out several small, medium, and large sized circles and label them with ones, fives, and tens. Then together you can practice counting and adding up several numbers with your circles. For example, "How many tens go into the number 46?" or "How many fives go into the number "23?" This helps form a great base for more difficult functions like multiplication and division too!
